Hi guys,
I have issues achieving a quick app launch for both my Android & iOS app versions. The apps are linked to a wordpress website out of which all data is interlinked.
My apps are taking long to transition from the flash screen to the landing page, particularly for the first time visitors.
Meanwhile there is no positive effect to app launch speed even if I am achieving 90+ speed for both the website and the mobile performance in Pagespeed. Efforts to seek help from AMS customer support have not returned a positive breakthrough yet.
Please help guide me on where to look.
Thanks.
Thank you for reaching out to the community and sharing your concerns regarding the slow app launch speed. While it’s great that you’ve achieved impressive PageSpeed scores on your own tests, we’ve gone ahead and conducted an independent assessment using the latest tools, and it seems the results point to different conclusions.
From our side, the performance of your website appears to be lower than expected, which could be contributing to the app’s delayed transition from the splash screen to the landing page, particularly for first-time visitors.
As the app relies heavily on your website’s data and loading times, optimizing the site further could help improve the app’s responsiveness. I’d recommend looking into the following areas:
Reduce server response time: Slow servers can delay the first meaningful paint.
Optimize resources: Compress images and reduce render-blocking scripts, which are common causes of loading delays.
Use caching: This helps with load times, especially for repeat users.
Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance in reviewing these recommendations. We want to ensure your app provides the best experience for your users!
Dear Jacob,
Thanks for your investigation. I agree that that’s the current average page speed on the site. We have temporarily disabled our main optimization plugin (Lite speed) to carry out some alternate tests and that’s why you are getting that low value report.
Nonetheless our earlier question was based on the 90+ speeds reported by page speed before we temporarily disabled the optimization plugin.
Thanks though for your response.
We want to clarify that all the data displayed in the app is directly sourced from your website’s database and is hosted on your website. Therefore, if the app experiences slowness, it is typically related to the performance of your website.
Our plugin does not contribute to the load time, nor does it store any of your data. In some cases, you may notice that your website performs well, but the app does not. This discrepancy can occur due to slow responses from your APIs.
Additionally, when you review the Troubleshoot connectivity test result, you may observe that your website is taking an extended time to respond, whereas it should ideally take 1-2 seconds. To address this issue promptly, we recommend reaching out to your web developer or hosting provider.
