Now that I’ve finally enabled push notifications, I’m stuck again! When I try to rebuild, I keep getting the draft status. Assistance would be most appreciated!
Support says that my provisioning profile doesn’t support APNs and that I should enable APNs then rebuild.
From what I can see on my end, APNs are enabled on everything—certificates, identifiers, keys—you name it. Every rebuild fails.
Full disclosure, I have no experience in this. This is not my wheelhouse, not my area of expertise. I’m a registered nurse trying to make an app to help my fellow nurses and other healthcare workers. App doesn’t require notifications but Apple rejected it (I got an alert then it got rejected because of the lack of APN configuration) so I spent hours trying to get it configured. Now it’s configured, yet somehow not enabled. Please help!
Hello there,
We thank you for posting your query on AppMySite Community.
If you are trying to enable plain notifications on the app, the APN certificate may not be needed, and the notifications will work fine using the APN Key.
APN certificate is a must to enable Rich Push Notifications. Apple developer account allows two different type of APN certificate -
Apple Push Notification Service SSL (Sandbox)
Apple Push Notification Service SSL (Sandbox and Production)
You must setup the APN certificate for Sandbox and Production to ensure that the notifications are delivered to the user’s devices.
You can follow the instructions to generate the needed APN certificate on the below link:
Once done, kindly rebuild the app and upload the latest build to the App Store for download and installation on your iPhone.
The Push Notifications should work as needed.
